The Secretariat for European Affairs organised on Thursday a “European Breakfast” on occasion the Day of Europe (9 May). The Vice-PM for European Affairs Bujar Osmani opened the event with an address. “We are experiencing times in which North Macedonia is the source of good news in the Balkans when it comes to implementation of reforms so that the country starts membership talks with the EU. Only 21 months ago, very small number of people believed that our country can achieve this goal, but look at us today – we resolve and close bilateral disputes with our neighbours and are finishing the implementation of the reforms necessary for our integration in the EU,” Osmani said. The EU Ambassador to Macedonia Samuel Zbogar pointed out that now is the time for the politicians to unite the people and set differences aside. “It is time for all of you to demonstrate unity for realisation of the Euro-Atlantic goals. I am currently serving in a country that made seriously difficult decisions, but also a country that today is the greatest source of good news from the West Balkans,” Zbogar said.
