The “Progress” institute, in cooperation with the Finnish foundation “Kalevi Sorsa” organised on Thursday a conference focusing on the security in Macedonia concerning the NATO and EU membership. The Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski was one of the main speakers at the conference. “Our wish to become part of the greater Euro-Atlantic family is finally being realised, and now it is up to us to show that we are ready for it by fulfilling all necessary standards and criteria in key sectors. Reforms are more than necessary, and we see them not only s condition to join the EU, but also as something that will allow the institutions to guarantee the protection of the rights of the citizens and the rule of democracy,” Spasovski said. He added that MoI is currently implementing reforms and spoke about the achievements in the struggle against organised crime.
