State Secretary has Credible Information, State Department Says over Jakimovski

Stevco Jakimovski abused using his official position to interfere with public processes that concern, inter alia, public procurement and urban planning to benefit himself and his associates, the State Department’s press services told VoA Macedonian on Wednesday, asked to comment on the statement by the Karpos Mayor and GROM presidential candidate that the blacklisting represents “interference of foreign intelligence services” in the election of President.

“Section 7031(c) provides that officials of foreign governments about whom the Secretary of State has credible information have been involved, directly or indirectly, in significant corruption or a gross violation of human rights shall be ineligible for entry into the United States,” the Department said.
