The Municipality of Gazi Baba and the City of Skopje observe the two-year anniversary since the great floods in parts of Skopje and the villages of Stajkovci, Singelic and Smilkovci. The floods occurred on 6 August 2016, and 28 people lost their lives and the homes of hundred others were partially or completely destroyed. From SDSM they levelled accusations at the previous government, claiming that the irresponsible construction of the Stajkovci ring road resulted in damages and victims during the floods.
