49 Schools Receive False Bomb Threats in One Day

49 primary and secondary schools in Skopje and in Kumanovo were target of e-mail threats for bombs on Thursday morning. From the Interior Ministry they inform that all of the bomb threats were false. “Like in previous cases, the threats have been sent via e-mail with the use of a virtual private network (VPN). The sector for cyber-crime at the Interior Ministry is constantly working on processing these cases in order to locate and apprehend the perpetrators. We learnt over the past days that this is an issue in other countries too, and I believe that we will resolve these cases very soon,” Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski said. After the police revealed that the bomb threats were false, most of the students returned to their lessons, but in some schools, they were allowed to leave home. For three months now, schools and other objects are constantly receiving bomb threats, all of which proven to be false so far, resulting with loss of great number of lessons, for which the Education Ministry determined that it will be up to school principals and managements to find a way to organise additional lessons.
