Special Envoy of the German Government for Western Balkans Manuel Sarrazin stated
in an interview for Deutsche Welle in Bulgarian that the resolution that the Bundestag
adopted in support of North Macedonia is not anti-Bulgarian. “I understand the reactions
in Bulgaria to the adoption of this resolution. The goal of this resolution is to aid the
process for constitutional changes in North Macedonia, which the country needs to do in
order to proceed with the processes for integration in the EU, something I believe is also
a pledge of official Sofia. Henceforth, this resolution is no anti-Bulgarian, but pro-
European,” Sarrazin said.
