Court Administration Members Stage New Protest

Monday saw a new protest staged by court administration members who reiterated their demands, including a salary increase of 78%. The same day, Labour and Social Policy Minister Jovanka Trencevska stated that according to the new methodology in general collective agreement, there would be a new salary increase for public sector employees in September.

Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi stated that in order for there to be an increase of salaries in the court, prosecutor’s office, and health sectors, cuts would need to be made from pensions and funds for student meals. When it comes to the issue of officials’ salaries, Bytyqi said a proposal still hadn’t come from the working group. “That is so because Minister of Information Society and Administration Azir Aliu is these days not in the country,” Bytyqi explained.
