Constitutional Changes Key Step, German Foreign Minister Baerbock Says

At a press-conference following her meeting with counterpart Timco Mucunski, Germany’s Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, said on Tuesday that the constitutional changes were the key step when it came to North Macedonia starting EU membership negotiations.

According to her, the EU makes its decisions unanimously, while there is no injustice against North Macedonia.

“We don’t agree with our European partners on everything, but the rules are such,” Baerbock stated.

As the German politician stressed, as long as those rules don’t change, to which she’s personally committed, compliance with them is required.

Previously, at the meeting, according to Mucunski and the German politician had discussed topics such as Germany’s support for the EU path.
