On Thursday, European Commission Spokesperson Ana Pisonero reiterated that President Ursula von der Leyen had stated during her visit to Skopje that North Macedonia had committed to make the constitutional changes.
“Of course, we urge all political forces to indeed come together to make this important step forward,” the Spokesperson added.
In his analysis of the progress Reports on candidates, the Director of the DG for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman, too, pointed to the constitutional changes obligations. However, he added that there were other reforms, too, that the country had to implement.
