The State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate (SSHI) has proposed to the Health Ministry to initiate procedures for supervision over the entire process of the treatment of a 7-month-old infant that passed away at the University Clinic for Paediatric Diseases at the Mother Teresa Clinic Centre in Skopje.
According to the report of SSHI, the Clinic still has not resolved the problem with the lack of a specialist in the emergency centre, for which there is an ongoing misdemeanour procedure, and that the documentation for the case is created by doctors which are not present at their job positions, for which SSHI issued additional resolutions.
The infant passed away on 15 December, and after the case was revealed, Clinic Director Rexhep Memedi claimed that all procedures and all regulations have been respected and that this is not a case of doctor’s negligence.
