Cana: No Need for Panic after Kosovo Detected First Monkeypox Case

Director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Skopje, Fadil Cana claimed that there is no reason for concern about monkeypox in the country, noting he is aware of the case in Kosovo.

“No cases have been reported here. I am well-informed about the situation and had a long conversation with the director of the Infectious Disease Clinic in Pristina. The patient is stable, and everything is under control. It is not an autochthonous case but an imported one. The citizens here can feel safe. There is no room for panic”, Cana said.

He emphasised that the authorities have the resources to cope with the disease if it were to spread here.
