On Wednesday, Interior Minister Pance Toskovski said New Year’s Eve had been generally peaceful. As he explained, 29 crimes were committed, 33 people were detained, while there were also 28 traffic accidents, in three of which people who had suffered severe bodily injuries were registered.
The Minister praised police officers, saying they had been up to the task. Toskovski also visited officers who had been on-call on New Year’s Eve. When it comes to the Toxicology Clinic, it admitted 18 patients, the youngest of whom was 14, with acute alcohol poisoning.
Also, a 13-year-old suffered severe hand injuries as a result of a firecracker going off and will have a complete disability. The first baby in 2025, Jakov, was born at the Gynaecology Clinic in Skopje. The mother and her child were visited by among others, Health Minister Arben Taravari, his wife, Nora Taravari, as well as PM Hristijan Mickoski’s wife, Rozi Mickoska.
