Most Likely, Candidate from Ranks of Judges will Be Elected as Judicial Council Head, Well-Informed Sources Tell Kanal 5

It remains uncertain who will be elected Judicial Council President during the body’s session on Friday (3 January).

Well-informed sources have told Kanal 5 that the possibility of a candidate from the ranks of attorneys has been ruled out, considering the ruling majority’s stand on a dismissal of those members elected by Parliament, which is why, most likely, a candidate from the ranks of judges will be elected as head.

If speculations are to be believed, Stip Court of Appeals Judge Danka Ristova is the most serious candidate.

Ristova joined the Council in December, but the opposition has fiercely criticised the fact that she’s married to VMRO-DPMNE’s Aco Ristov, the Mayor of Radovis. Sources have told Kanal 5 that though members proposed to Judge Aleksandar Kambovski to be President, he rejected.
