According to Telma, DUI leader Ali Ahmeti’s nephew, Drin Ahmeti, from 24 December 2024 to 3 January 2025, posted photos on social media of him and persons close to him, including his brother, Besian Ahmeti, in New York.
According to the photos, among the locations he visited were Brooklyn and Manhattan.
In an Instagram post, he said, “A marvellous year has passed; may a better one come”.
His father, too, visited him in America, based on the photos. There is a photo of him and Nazar “Nick” Mehmeti, a businessman with North Macedonia roots known for owning striptease bars in Texas, as well. Mehmeti, over a two-year period, transferred around 7.7 million dollars to Thor Industries, through which Drin would carry out the Soravia centre purchase process.
According to Telma, Drin left North Macedonia at the end of July. However, neither the Interior Ministry nor the Prosecutor’s Office has answered the question as to when he exited and whether he was summoned for interrogation in the frames of the pre-investigation into the Soravia case.
The Office has already gathered documentation on which an expertise procedure is being carried out within the Ministry. However, the wait for international legal aid from the US, since millions have been transferred from the US to the Skopje account of Thor Industries, is still on.
According to Biznis Mreza data, the account of the company owned by Drin is blocked. That is also the case when it comes to Soravia Invest, the company that owns the business centre in Skopje.
