SDSM has stated it’s not true that Agency for National Security Director Bojan Hristovski has received NATO clearance.
“This represents intentional manipulation to avoid answers to the essential questions, that is, whether Hristovski at all meets conditions to hold the senior position. First, checks to issue security clearance documents are exclusively carried out by domestic security institutions, the Agency for National Security and Interior Ministry. The procedure is clearly defined.
The institution where the person works submits a request to the Classified Information Security Directorate, which is followed by the required checks being carried out. Those checks on civilians are carried out by the Agency and Ministry, not NATO. So, in the Hristovski case, exactly the Agency where he’s been named Director submitted a request and precisely the Agency carried out the security check of its Director. This reveals the government’s entire manipulation”, Spokesperson Bogdanka Kuzeska said on Wednesday.
In response, VMRO-DPMNE stated that the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) had found no reason to initiate a procedure in the case, adding that Hristovski had clearance according to all standards.
