Stip Murder: Five Turkish Citizens Named Suspects Each Issued 30-day Detention Measure

The five citizens of Turkiye named suspects in the Stip murder case have each been issued a 30-day detention measure.

The prime suspect, 21-year-old, K.K., who’s suspected of murdering 25-year-old, E.O., a citizen of Turkiye, too, at the coffee place in the city, didn’t have a regulated stay in North Macedonia.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, he bought the 9-mm gun from an unknown person from Skopje for 1,100 euros at the start of the month. Data on the weapon’s model as well as the gun’s serial number were removed.

The suspect, who, if found guilty, may face life in prison, used it in a premeditated manner and, for ruthless revenge, shot the 25-year-old several times, it was pointed out in the press-release.

“Through mobile apps, the prime suspect and the victim had agreed to meet to, allegedly, solve long-lasting misunderstandings between them, but after a 15-minute conversation at the hospitality venue, the suspect entered the restroom, immediately got out, and opened fire”, the Office also said.

The other four, three men and a girl, aged 22-28 are suspected of trying to help him flee. At a not precisely determined location in Stip, he got in a car they were in, a BMW, driven by the girl, while all of them headed towards Skopje.

“Near the Miladinovci toll station, they were intercepted and stopped by a police patrol and started to flee, but were arrested”, it was pointed out as well.

Unofficially, the murdered person put his studies at Goce Delcev University on hold in 2023. Commenting on the case, SDSM has said that murders have become an everyday occurrence in the country, which is why Interior Minister Pance Toskovski should be held to account.

However, in response, VMRO-DPMNE stated that it had been SDSM’s time in power and Oliver Spasovski’s term as the Interior Minister that had turned Macedonia into “the Balkans’ Colombia”.
