On Monday, representatives of oncology patients met prosecutors working on the Oncology Clinic case.
All patients or relatives of late ones involved in part of the investigation whose treatment histories were selected and sent to Serbia and Slovenia for checks due to suspicions over the treatment method will be summoned to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in order for them to be briefed on their rights as injured parties, the associations of patients that met Prosecutors Gavril Bubevski and Ana Gogovska Jakimovska said after the meeting.
The Office, on its part, said representatives of patient organisations had been briefed on the course of investigation.
“65 of all reviewed histories were selected and sent to Slovenia and Serbia, where they were analysed by the experts there. Slovenian experts confirmed improper treatment of 29 patients, while Serbian ones confirmed that with regards to an additional 18”, the institution stated.
Since the scandal broke in 2023, all therapy has been determined through a commission and signature by the patient. Commenting on VMRO-DPMNE’s accusations over the case, SDSM leader Venko Filipce, in the capacity of ex-Health Minister, said that he didn’t feel culpable.
