Telma, in a report on Monday posted on its website at 7 pm, said it had learned that the Judicial Council had dismissed that day Skopje Court of Appeals Judge Enver Bexheti, who had been blacklisted by the US last year together with ex-Deputy PM Artan Grubi “for their involvement in significant corruption by accepting bribes to undermine judicial processes tied to the criminal conviction” of ex-secret police chief Sasho Mijalkov.
Bexheti has a right to file an appeal, but will be suspended until the decision becomes effective.
The Council had previously fined Bexheti because he’d kept the Target-Fortress (wiretapping) case involving Mijalkov for too long in a drawer, which had resulted in the statute of limitations expiring.
