Levica Files Charge against PM over Kocani Fire Investigation

On Wednesday, Levica filed a criminal charge against PM Hristijan Mickoski over the investigation into the Kocani fire.

The party’s leader, MP Dimitar Apasiev, stated that there had been obstruction of justice and conflict of interest between Mickoski and Prosecutor-General Ljupco Kocevski, while there had been no prosecution of officials from VMRO-DPMNE even though they were culpable.

Apasiev also asked why there hadn’t been legal processes concerning corruption in the Kocani case, that is, why activities concerned only the act of grave crimes against safety.

Commenting on the charge, Mickoski stated that he was at the disposal of relevant organs. However, he added that if the opposite was proven, he would start a legal process against Apasiev’s party concerning defamation and lying.
