EU Path, Bulgaria Matter, and Kocani Fire among Topics at Parliament’s Q&A Session

At the Q&A session of Parliament on Thursday, SDSM MPs asked what the strategy of the Government was regarding the EU path of the country.

“The plan is to reach the goal, not to return to the starting position”, PM Hristijan Mickoski said, adding that he wouldn’t change his current stands at all until a Macedonian representative became part of Bulgaria’s Committee on Minorities.

Once again, the PM called on domestic MPs and politicians to lobby with sister parties before the debate on MEP and Rapporteur Thomas Waitz’s draft report at the start of June. Among the other topics at the session was the situation following the Kocani fire.

“So far, 30 million denars have been secured from the Government for those affected by the Kocani fire. So far, 11.2 million denars have been paid”, Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kocoska said.

As she explained, the 11.2 million denars have been paid for travel expenses and accommodation of families of those injured receiving treatment abroad.

“This continues further, too”, the Minister noted.

She also pointed out that the previous cabinet hadn’t allocated any funds following the Laskarci crash and Tetovo modular hospital fire. The session saw other topics, including the G2G with the UK and education, debated as well.
