On Saturday, blacklisted former 1st Deputy PM Artan Grubi, who’s among the suspects in the Lottery case and who’s been at large since December, shared photos on his Facebook profile of birthday congratulations from relatives and close friends of his. That was his first activity since he fled the country.
The posts don’t contain any information as to where he’s located or when and if he will return.
On 15 December 2024, Grubi left North Macedonia for, as he said, “a private visit”.
However, his absence was afterwards registered as fleeing. Among those that extended birthday greetings was his mother, Zuhra Grubi.
“I, your mother, prouder than ever wish you a HAPPPY BIRTHDAY, ARTAN, and pray that you have health and happiness and that this communist-type political revenge and persecution, suffers the fate of that persecutory system and that the truth will win on the basis of God’s will”, she wrote.
