Aleksandar Nacev has been named a suspect in the Kocani fire case. He is suspected of being the actual owner of Rubicon, the company in charge of security at the Pulse nightclub, which allowed the DNK band to bring pyrotechnics. A detention measure will be sought.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the company didn’t have a contract with the nightclub for 2025, that is, its security activities were unlawful. Also, during the night, it was added in the press-release, on the night of the fire, it didn’t control the entrance and evacuation conditions, and allowed both juveniles to be present and overcrowding of the facility.
According to VMRO-DPMNE, Nacev’s arrest proves that there is justice and that it applies to all.
On the other hand, SDSM described Nacev’s arrest as belated. Also, according to the opposition party, he is being used as a scapegoat by VMRO-DPMNE because the party is trying to save current officials from facing accountability over the fire.
