On Sunday, Maksim Dimitrievski was re-elected as ZNAM leader at the 2nd Congress of the party, which was held in Skopje.
Regarding the local elections, he said he expected all ZNAM candidates to emerge victories in all municipalities where the party would have candidates.
“Talks are underway with VMRO-DPMNE for support of mayoral candidates. I am convinced a deal will be reached”, the Kumanovo Mayor stressed.
ZNAM will have its own candidate lists in all local self-government units where it has municipal organizations. However, Dimitrievski stated that the party was open in terms of promoting other candidates as its own provided they respected ZNAM’s programme orientations.
Asked about the upcoming visit of EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos, he said that she was welcome, nonetheless adding that ZNAM didn’t accept at all talks on constitutional changes at the expense of the Macedonian language and identity.
