Reactions to Election of Dimovska as Acting President of Criminal Court

During the debate to elect Daniela Dimovska as Acting President of the Criminal Court, Judicial Council member Antoaneta Dimovska praised her managerial abilities, saying she’d also been the nominee’s mentor.

In response, however, Council member Tatjana Cacarova-Ilievska levelled criticism, saying the fact that Antoaneta Dimovska had mentored Daniela Dimovska didn’t mean that 10 judges from the Court with more points should be skipped over. In response, Antoenata Dimovska stated she hadn’t said that Daniela Dimovska should be elected because she’d been her mentor.

“It’s a fact that we have deviated from the rankings when we have elected judges. I said why I thought she had managerial abilities,” she added.

The same day, Karpos Mayor Stevco Jakimovski said the way in which Dimovska had been elected gave him the right to suspect that one of the reasons for her promotion was the 3.5-year prison sentence issued by her against him “for things I haven’t done”.
