VMRO-DPMNE leader and PM Hristijan Mickoski said on Monday the local elections would be scheduled on 7 or 8 August, adding that the first round would be held on 19 October.
Regarding the ruling party’s decision to endorse Kisela Voda Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski in the Skopje mayoral race, SDSM stated he had let his Municipality down.
“He has let citizens in Kisela Voda down. However, he’s now offering himself to people in Skopje with the same empty rhetoric and same partisan scheming. Skopje mustn’t become a bigger version of Kisela Voda. The capital doesn’t deserve a pawn of Mickoski that will use the City budget as a budget of the party and sink the City of Skopje”, SDSM’s Ljubica Janceva stated.
Mickoski declined to comment on SDSM’s stands, stressing only that everything would become clear on 19 October.
