Mickoski again Says Bulgaria’s Goal’s Much Deeper than Constitutional Changes

PM Hristijan Mickoski believes that as a result of the latest events related to Bulgaria, the EU has lost part of its image. On Saturday, he asked when its patience with regards to the eastern neighbor would end.

“The goal of Bulgarian politicians is no different at all from that goal Russia’s leadership has in Ukraine, which is an attempt to assimilate the Macedonian people and a kind of identity engineering”, Mickoski pointed out.

Again, he stated that everyone had been able to see that the goal was much deeper than the constitutional changes and that it was much more dangerous to Europe itself.

On the other hand, Bulgaria’s ex-Ambassador in Skopje, Angel Dimitrov, who currently heads the Bulgarian team in the frames of the Joint Committee on History, considers that authorities in North Macedonia have been digging more and more a “meaningless” trench with regards to relations with Bulgaria. In that regard, he said it would be very hard to get out of that.

Previously, North Macedonia’s Foreign Ministry had asked for an apology over Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev’s “North Macedonian PM” comments.

On the other hand, Bulgarian PM Rosen Zhelyazkov called on Mickoski to apologise for his “mouse teasing the lion” comments on Georgiev.
