The prime suspect in the case concerning Friday’s attack on Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska, Sulejman Lamallari, has been issued a detention measure.
Though he was initially, on 12 July, placed under house arrest, the Criminal Court believes there are circumstances with regards to a danger of him fleeing and repeating the act.
“We’ve received a notification from the relevant police station that the person has already been taken to the Skopje prison”, the Court said on Tuesday.
Earlier that day, Arsovska had submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organised Crime a Corruption a criminal charge against Cair Mayor Visar Ganiu and several employees of the Municipality, according to which local authorities use falsified daybooks on applications for legalization of illegal structures.
In the charge, Arsovska alleges that citizens who would submit, in a timely fashion, applications to legalise balconies or parts of houses inherited by them were rejected by the Municipality, which later on used the number on the rejected applications in the daybooks to legalize illegal structures and high-rises of other people that would build facilities 10 years after the adoption of the law on legalization of illegal facilities, while those people would be juveniles during the filing of the application.
