On Friday, SDSM leader Venko Filipce said his party would endorse one of its Vice Presidents, ex-Environment Minister Kaja Sukova, in the Skopje mayoral race. In Karpos, SDSM will endorse former Maja Mojsova-Mijovska, former National Coordinate on Transplantation.
Filipce presented the names of other candidates too, including Metodija Kunovski, for Bitola, ex-State Market Inspectorate head Goran Trajkovski, for Kisela Voda, Petar Spasov, for Novo Selo, and Pero Kostadinov, who will try to win another term in Valandovo.
The following day, Sukova said the capital was in complete chaos and that she would offer concrete solutions and vision. She didn’t say which other parties she expected to support her. However, the mayoral candidate stated that interparty consultations were underway.
She considers that she has enough professional experiences in areas such as communal activities, infrastructure, and the environment. However, VMRO-DPMNE stated that Sukova and all other candidates endorsed by SDSM would be defeated.
