If VLEN’s Izet Mexhiti runs in the Cair mayoral race, it will be known towards the end of August whether he will be endorsed also by VMRO-DPMNE.
Talks between the two parties are underway. VMRO-DPMNE’s leader, PM Hristijan Mickoski, has described them as positive and constructive. He also says there will be mutual endorsement with both VLEN and ZNAM in certain municipalities.
“It’s clear ruling parties will have their own list of candidates for council seats. It’s logical for us, the coalition headed by VMRO-DPMNE, ZNAM, and VLEN, to support one another in mayoral races in certain municipalities, that is, I would say, in all municipalities because we’re the ruling coalition. I think that will be a positive process that will end in the second half of August. We will make the final decisions after the vacations”, Mickoski points out.
