Dimitrovska’s Attorney Says He Advised her to Resign as SCPC Head

Attorney Vladimir Tufegdzic, who represents ex-State Commission for Prevention of Commission (SCPC) Director Tatjana Dimitrovska, said on Friday he had advised her to resign. He believes that that will create a normal environment when it comes to the further procedure. Regarding the charge related to the Additive case, Tufegdzic stressed that it was problematic on multiple grounds.

“The shared information is not considered an official secret because it’s about decisions made in 2022 and 2023, run transparently and publicly, while the sessions were broadcast on the YouTube channel, while media had been previously been informed and decisions are available on the SCPC’s website”, he points out.

When it comes to the charge concerning the security clearance case, the attorney stated that the test was just the formal check, whereas the essential one was made by the Agency for National Security. An unintentional oversight doesn’t constitute incrimination, he adds in that regard.

Tufegdzic will seek for the two processes to be separate. Parliament will determine the resignation at a future session. Afterwards, Dimitrovska’s successor will be elected.

“There will be action in accordance with foreseen procedures”, the legislative house adds.
