For Kanal 5, Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi has confirmed he will officially schedule the local elections on Saturday (9 August).
The first and second round will be held on 19 October and 2 November, respectively, the TV station adds in the report. Submitters will have until 15 September to file lists of mayoral and council seat candidates.
After that, the State Election Commission (SEC) will have several days to check them, which will be followed by it determining the names not later than 27 September. The 20-day election campaign will start on 30 September.
