SDSM has again called on the Government to dismiss Ana Mihajlov as Acting Director of the National Agency for European Educational Programmes and Mobility.
On Thursday, Jovica Jankovic of the party’s youth organisation, SDMM, stated again that a public OLAF report showed suspicions that in the period when Mihajlov had been the responsible person for evaluators, through networked persons and companies, over 2 million euros had been misused.
“Though the report was submitted in 2023, to this day, there’s been no bill of indictment. The key question is: Does the government, with the appointment of Mihajlov, aim to block and influence the investigation of the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office and OLAF?
Additionally, we’ve already made public information from whistleblowers on how over eight million euros were awarded to companies under highly suspicious circumstances that must be investigated”, he added, stressing that what was also suspicious was the abolition of the previous competition that had been stopped in order to appoint an acting head “tailor-made for” the cabinet.
However, VMRO-DPMNE again said that there was honest work. According to the ruling party, through the Agency, during their time in power, SDSM and Zoran Zaev would “buy off” judges.
“The judiciary is in the current desperate position, with a confidence level of 2%, because Zaev, [current SDSM leader Venko] Filipce, and SDS[M] would buy off judges through projects and money, while, they, in exchange, would dance to the tune that would be conducted”, VMRO-DPMNE’s Valentin Manasievski stated.
He stressed that Lidija Dimova, during her time as head of the Agency had awarded Nanev, a dismissed judge, a 120,000-euro project from the part of KA201 European funds, mainly focusing on school education.
However, in response, SDSM said that Nanev had been employed one month prior by Interior Minister Pance Toskovski as an inspector in Kavadarci.
