New Round of VLEN-DUI Accusations

Opposition parties in the ethnic Albanian bloc have no grounds to ask for VLEN to leave the ruling coalition citing discrimination of ethnic Albanians because, according to 1st Deputy PM Izet Mexhiti, when those parties were in power, the life of ethnic Albanians was even harder.

In response to DUI’s accusations that VLEN members are leaving the ruling coalition partner in big numbers, the ruling party stated that it was DUI’s coalition partners that left Ali Ahmeti’s party on a daily basis.

Regarding his party’s decision to leave the DUI-led coalition, DPA leader Menduh Thaci stated that Ahmeti had consciously taken as allies two “sworn enemies” of DPA that had spared no efforts to harm the party.

Regarding the decision by the DUI-led European Front to rebrand itself under a new name, “National Alliance for Integration”, Mexhiti stressed that there were constant name changes by DUI and coalitions with parties with which it had previously been fiercely at odds.
