Open-Heart Surgeries Issue: Foreign Doctors to Comprise Expert Commission

Foreign doctors will comprise the expert commission that will look into cardiologist Sasko Kedev’s allegations, presented during an interview with Kanal 77 Radio’s Stadion (Stadium) program, that there had been unnecessary open-heart surgeries at private hospital.

The Health Minister, Azir Aliu, said on Thursday the experts in cardiology and cardiac surgery would check medical documentation at both private and state institutions.

According to him, the expert commission should be given time, while once the report is drawn up, it will be a roadmap on what action will be taken further in terms of whether legal or other changes in the sector will be needed.
