Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timco Mucunski started his official visit to Brussels with a meeting on Monday with Director-General of the Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Directorate at the European Commission, Gert Jan Koopman.
At the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged opinions over the implementation of the reform agenda and the Government’s dedication to the reform processes that bring the country closer to EU membership, with Mucunski emphasising that the Government already demonstrated serious dedication to fulfilling the obligations from the reform agenda and that a significant progress has been achieved. Mucunski and Koopman also discussed regional cooperation and the role of North Macedonia in regional processes and initiatives which aim at maintaining stability and security of the region.
Mucunski reaffirmed North Macedonia’s dedication to the processes for EU-integration, as well as the adaptation of the country’s foreign and security policy to that of the EU and the strategic partnerships in the fields of defence and security.
