Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timco Mucunski reacted to the claims of SDSM leader Venko Filipce, that the government has allegedly been obstructing North Macedonia’s integration in the EU.
“The sad truth in this entire situation is that the negotiations with the EU for membership cannot be blocked, because, thanks to SDS[M] and DUI, they never even started in the first place. Our duty is to provide results, not empty words and excuses. We remain dedicated to taking the country where it belongs – in the European family. We are working on the processes for EU-integration, but we also preserve the country’s identity, language and culture, unlike those before us that tried to convince the people that ‘we should bend our backs a bit’ to get in the EU”, Mucunski wrote on Facebook.
Filipce accused the government that they do nothing neither to proceed with the process for implementation of reforms, nor to adopt the necessary constitutional changes.
