Deputy PM in charge of Good Governance Policies Arben Fetai informed at a press conference Wednesday that a delegation of the Venice Commission arrived in North Macedonia.
“The visit is realised upon a request by the Government made on 11 July, so that the Venice Commission can prepare its opinion about the Draft-Law on Adequate and Fair Representation.
We addressed four questions: 1. Does this law indeed improve the adequate and fair representation, bearing in mind that the Constitutional Court decided to abolish the Balancer Tool; 2. Does this law promote equality by eliminating barriers for employment; 3. Is this law in accordance with other constitutional principles, like rule of law, freedom of expression of ethnicity, and protection of privacy; 4. Is the governmental coordinative body established by this law an efficient mechanism for security, affirmation and improvement of the adequate and fair representation”, Fetai said.
