MPs Demand Investigation over ANS Scandal

MPs from both the ruling majority and from the opposition demand that the Parliamentary Committee for Supervision of the Agency for National Security (ANS) assembles as soon as possible to look into the scandal that was revealed when PM Hristijan Mickoski stated that he and other people have been illegally followed by ANS between 2019 and 2024.

“We need to hold a session at the committee as soon as possible so that we can determine a date for visit to ANS and have direct insight into the current conditions and possible indications of eventual illegal activities”, said MP Ljupco Prendzov from the ruling majority.

SDSM MP Oliver Spasovski also demanded immediate assembly of the committee, claiming that in the period between 2019 and 2024, while he was Minister of Interior, he too has been illegally followed by ANS.

President of the Parliamentary committee for Supervision of ANS and DUI MP Skender Rexhepi Zejd said that it is not possible to hold a session, because he is still waiting for his security certificate that would allow him insight into classified documents.
