Political Parties Congratulate Independence Day

VMRO-DPMNE extended greetings to the citizens of North Macedonia on occasion the Day of Independence.

“On this historical day, 34 years ago, the Macedonian people made the most important decision, to build its state sovereignly and independently. Today, we proudly bear the Macedonian flag and we build our country by strengthening the economy, establishing partnerships and integration in the Euro-Atlantic alliance, all while we preserve our identity, language and culture”, they state from VMRO-DPMNE.

VLEN too congratulated the citizens, saying that the modern history of the country cannot be understood completely without the Ohrid Framework Agreement (OFA), which made the country, as VLEN states, a mutual home for all its citizens.

Opposition leaders also extended greetings. SDSM leader Venko Filipce said in his greetings that the state does not belong to the political parties, but to the citizens.

“We all must do everything we can to preserve our country, our mutual home. Today, when corruption poses a serious threat over our country, we all need to do our best to fight this corruption”, Filipce said.

DUI leader Ali Ahmeti also extended his congratulations, adding that Albanians were excluded from the process of declaring independence in 1991, but their exclusion has ended in 2001 with OFA, something that, according to Ahmeti, opened the country’s road towards progress and prosperity, and integration in NATO and EU.
