PPO Files Bill of Indictment against Prosecutors Hajrulahi, Cvetanovski

The Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) filed a bill of indictment against prosecutors Mustafa Hajrulahi and Jovan Cvetanovski. The two prosecutors are charged with abuse of official positions, in accordance with Article 353 from the Criminal Code.

According to PPO, between January 2023 and August 2024, Hajrulahi kept several official letters instead of handing them to the authorised prosecutors, as the law dictates, and he also demanded administrative officials to not register them on the same date they have arrived, but on later dates, all so that he could distribute the letters and the cases they were addressed about to Cvetanovski.

Hajrulahi is also prosecuted in accordance with Article 143 from the Criminal Code, because he was threatening the administrative workers in order to force them to obey his demands.

In a statement for Sitel, Hajrulahi claims that the bill of indictment has been filed in the beginning of August, but was published now in the media because, according to him, there is panic in PPO after the surfacing of allegations for the stalling of a case called Extortion 2, in which prosecutors have used their influence to stall investigations in favour of officials from SDSM.
