Spokesperson of the Government of North Macedonia Marija Miteva said at a press conference Wednesday that the government will allocate 2.5 million denars for protection of the Makedonium monument in Krusevo.
This follows after it was revealed via social media that the monument is in a bad condition because the damaged stained-glass windows allow moisture to enter the inside of the monument, creating puddles of water on the floor.
“We shall protect the Makedonium, and we shall rehabilitate it to its old glory. The government allocated 2.5 million denars, which will be transferred to the Museum Office in Prilep, which will then conduct a project for rehabilitation of the monument. The project is expected to be completed by the middle of 2026”, Miteva said.
