Regarding the Kocani fire, SDSM has reacted to the issue of the website www.ubijcitenakocani.com, (www.thekillersofkocani.com) where edited photos of the faces of PM Hristijan Mickoski, Interior Minister Pance Toskovski, and Public Security Bureau Director Aleksandar Janev, covered in blood, have been posted.
“The campaign of VMRO-DPMNE and Hristijan Mickoski that are trying to portray themselves as victims publicly is pathetic and disappointing. Such an attempt just goes to demonstrate the weakness of this government, which doesn’t have projects, nor does it offer policies. Everything they’ve offered so far has been lies, manipulation, and bare rhetoric. And they’ve been caught everywhere. Every lie of theirs has surfaced, which is why they’ve been only left with portraying themselves as victims.
The latest made-up thing by Mickoski and VMRO and Mickoski today is fog-sowing that someone has demanded a ‘murder of Mickoski’. Namely, the website www.ubijcitenakocani.com was made on 16 September and filled with content shortly before the press-conference of the party’s spokesperson, that is, at 11:58 am. We are asking whether this isn’t proof that it was made for these morbid PR needs. Prior to the press-conference, the website hadn’t existed, nor had anybody seen it. Hence, we demand that VMRO-DPMNE apologise for the stated lies and manipulation attempt”, the opposition party said in a press-release on Wednesday.
SDSM also added that it was demanding that institutions immediately check who was behind the website, that it would file a criminal charge for the “creators of this morbid campaign” to be found and penalised, and that it would file a defamation lawsuit if VMRO-DPMNE didn’t urgently apologise.
Venko Filipce’s party also said it was calling on Mickoski and his party to leave those killed in the Kocani fire rest in peace.
“We appeal to Mickoski to stop this morbid PR that disturbs the families of those killed and injured”, it was added in the press-release.
Earlier that day, at a press-conference, VMRO-DPMNE’s Valentin Manasievski had stated that his party had most fiercely condemned the malicious, shameful, and monstruous attempt to politically exploit the Kocani tragedy.
“To VMRO-DPMNE, it’s clear that structures close to Venko Filipce and his installations, which have for years misused politics and public area for personal and party purposes for years. Obviously, SDS[M] and the structures close to them desire that a PM, Interior Minister, and Public Security Director be murdered”, he added.
Later that day, that is, following SDSM’s press-release, VMRO-DPMNE stated that with its alleged criminal charges, Filipce’s party was running away from accountability and covering up calls for murder.
“In a situation when the perpetrator, caught attempting to literally set fire to the country, is now taking a step that the most contemporary psychoanalysts would be hard pressed to interpret and help. We can only say: SDS[M], you should get treatment. You will see for yourselves how accurate that is in the next elections”, the ruling party noted, asking also whether Filipce felt the responsibility to distance itself from the “call to murder” Mickoski, Toskovski, and Janev.
