Mucunski Attends Observance of Religious Holiday at Church in New York

On Sunday, members of North Macedonia’s diaspora observed Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Saint Clement of Ohrid Church in Queens, New York. Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski, who’s visiting the US, was among those in attendance too. He promised strong commitment to the diaspora.

“Our Christian faith is significant. Our Macedonian language is of huge significance. And we should work together to affirm such Macedonian values that are an essential element of our identity root”, Mucunski, who spent a big part of his childhood in New York, told Sitel.

The following day, on the sidelines of UNGA80, Mucunski delivered an address at the first meeting of Adriatic-Ionian Initiative Foreign Ministers.

In his speech, he underlined the need for a credible process of EU enlargement, emphasising that the Western Balkans had to remain a strategic part of the European future. The meeting was organised by North Macedonia, which is the holder of the presidency of the Adriatic-Ionioan Initiative’s for the 2025-2026 period.
