The City of Skopje said on Monday that Pucko Petrol had stopped delivering fuel for the Public Transport Enterprise’s buses. In its press-release, it alleged its owner, Asmir Jahoski, had been under pressure from VMRO-DPMNE to stop the delivery in order for chaos in terms of there being no buses in the capital to be created again.
“Though he has an active contract on oil delivery with the Enterprise, Pucko Petrol’s Asmir Jahoski, faced with charges, a prison sentence, and prone to blackmails, has stopped the delivery. The blackmailed person did the same before New Year’s. He has left citizens waiting when it’s cold in the winter and when it’s hot in the summer only for the vain leaders to be satisfied”, it noted.
Local authorities also said that citizens no longer had patience when it came to the “political games” for pre-election defocusing by VMRO-DPMNE, the Enterprise’s Managing Board run by the ruling party, adding that the ruling party’s leader, PM Hristijan Mickoski, and Jahoski wanted to divert attention from the damage they’d caused to both the Enterprise and the capital in the previous four years.
The City of Skopje will also initiate proper proceedings for material and criminal accountability as a result of, as it stressed, failure to comply with the contract.
However, Pucko Petrol had asked for a public apology from media over their coverage of the City of Skopje’s press-release. As the company noted, in the case, the fact the Enterprise has a huge debt, which would exceed even 10 million euros and see invoices from more than two years ago not paid, was not mentioned at all.
“Thorough and objective informing is an important principle for every medium, especially when it comes to information of public interest”, it stressed, adding that every institution that made payments on time always got fuel according to conditions referred to in contracts. Jahoski and RKM’s Ratko Kapusevski, are among the suspects in the Mazut case.
