Mensur Pajaziti Case: Ristovska’s Family Fiercely Critical of Court’s Decision

The family of Teodora Ristovska has fiercely criticised the decision by the Gostivar Court of Appeals to confirm the Tetovo Basic Court verdict sentencing Mensur Pajaziti to two years in prison for causing the traffic accident in which the 22-year-old girl was killed.

“Instead of justice that will bring peace, we’ve received a system that, with its mild and selective sentence, has been creating even greater distrust and hate”, it points out in a letter addressed to the public.

Pajaziti confessed in the trial over the traffic accident that had taken place 15 August 2022, when he, while speeding, hit Ristovska who, as a pedestrian, was crossing a marked zebra crossing.

In the first process, Pajaziti was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. After an appeals process, it was reduced. That was followed by the Supreme Court abolishing the verdicts and ordering a retrial.
