A new March of Angels was held in Kocani on Saturday. Parents of those killed in the 16 March nightclub fire said they were demanding that all evidence be presented in full, expansion of the charge in order for it to cover other people involved, urgent re-examination of house arrest decisions, and ensuring of equal treatment of all suspects.
Leveling fierce criticism at Prosecutor-General Ljupco Kocevski, they stated that there had been oversights and covering up. What they also take issue with is the fact that some of the suspects have been issued measures of precaution.
“This is an insult to justice and to the entire legal system. Your duty is to ensure equal treatment before the law, not create a system in which the rich and influential are undisputed.
We’re aware there is more evidence against other persons you are deliberately not presenting. With that, not only are you violating justice, but also committing a crime, according to the Criminal Code. For that, there will be accountability. We suspect your action is the result of strong political or other type of pressure by people behind this case. However, try as hard as you might to hide the truth, it will surface”, Mita Taseva, whose son was killed in the fire, noted.
