VMRO-DPMNE leader and PM Hristijan Mickoski and SDSM leader Venko Filipce continued to trade accusations in the frames of the election campaign on Friday and the weekend as well.
“I’ve heard Filipce mocking the 1,000-denar increase of pensions for pensioners. However, he has deliberately not said that pensions have increased by a total of 5,000 denars in the last 18 months. That shows that there is a difference compared to the time when they would take from pensioners instead of giving to them”, Mickoski noted at a rally in Bitola.
The VMRO-DPMNE leader also used his speech to criticise Ali Ahmeti, saying the DUI leader didn’t care about ethnic Albanians.
“He’s just making threats and playing the ethnic card”, the VMRO-DPMNE leader stressed.
Also, in Mogila, the VMRO-DPMNE leader said SDSM’s red lines regarding the EU path could only represent “yet another gift” to Bulgaria.
Furthermore, in Brvenica, Mickoski again stated that there was a SDSM-DUI-Levica “unprincipled coalition”, while at a rally in Jegunovce, he said the Ahmeti-Venko Filipce-Dimitar Apasiev coalition had in common was their anger towards VMRO-DPMNE.
When it comes to Filipce, in Ohrid, he said there was an obligation to restore hope that the current cabinet couldn’t do whatever it wanted to.
“Let’s raise our voice that will not be silent before the injustice, arrogance, and ignoring of people’s needs. We cannot allow the state to become a tool for personal interests”, he emphasized.
Also, at a rally in Struga, he said Mickoski’s government was pushing the country into isolation and a regime.
“We will not accept compromise when it comes to citizens”, the SDSM leader pointed out.
Furthermore, in Veles, he said the elections were not a fight only for SDSM.
“This is a fight for the dignity of every person that lives off of their salary. This is a battle for the workers’ class, for youth that don’t want to emigrate, for pensioners that shouldn’t count how many days there are until the next pension payment arrives”, Filipce stressed.
