Activities of Mayoral Candidates Continue

Mayoral candidates continued their activities on Monday. VMRO-DPMNE’s Skopje mayoral candidate, Orce Gjorgjievski, presented plans to create a so-called disco zone that would be located outside the capital, where, as he said, youth will be able to have fun without that impacting residents in Skopje. Also, he presented plans for full digitalisation of the capital.

In Centar, ZNAM’s mayoral candidate, Miroslav Labudovic, presented plans for developing the local economy and supporting youth and small businesses.

“Centar has a huge potential, full of creativity, youth, and ideas that are waiting to get a chance”, he noted.

SDSM’s candidate for the capital, Kaja Sukova, talked about plans to turn the quay in Gjorce Petrov into a symbol of urban greenery and active lifestyle.

“Citizens deserve much more than mud, thorns, and fake promises. You remember what they promised. A green sports quay, 40 kilometres of bicycle and eco-corridors. However, what have citizens received? Neither sports nor greenery. Just a deserted area and yet another disappointment”, she stressed.

When it comes to SDSM’s candidate for Centar, Goran Gerasimovski, who’s running for a second term, he presented plans to double the culture budget from 13 to 26 million denars.

“In the past four years, Centar Municipality has invested in promoting and affirming Macedonian culture, language, and art through murals, concerts and events dedicated to cultural heritage”, he stressed.

When it comes to Levica’s candidate for Skopje, Amar Mecinovic, he said his main goal was to make the capital a functional system that would serve citizens, not parties.

“Skopje’s in a horrible condition, but institutions work for the interests of parties, not for people”, he noted.

The Levica candidate also presented plans for rationalisation of the operations of public enterprises (PEs). The candidate in the mayoral race for the capital endorsed by Experience for Success, Aleksandar Trajanovski, talked about his plans to solve issues of buses of the Public Transport Enterprise, “which is of strategic importance”.

In Cair, the DUI-led coalition’s candidate, Bujar Osmani, stated that institutions had been turned into a tool for partisan interests and electoral manipulations. As he added, once he starts his mayoral term, he will comprehensively review all activities.

VLEN’s candidate, Izet Mexhiti, presented plans for education. Also, he stated that Osmani had rejected an invitation to a televised debate on TV21.

“Bujar, don’t be afraid. Muster up the courage”, he said on social media.
