A petition submitted to the SCPC has raised suspicions that there are Intelligence Agency employees without security clearance. An anonymous submitter has reported two cases.
In the first, it is said that an employee, at the start of 2024, received a negative answer from the Directorate for Security of Classified Information, i.e. he wasn’t issued clearance. According to the submitter, the negative answer from the Directorate constitutes grounds to terminate employment, so they reported that the Agency’s Director didn’t act by making neither a suspension decision nor a dismissal one.
Regarding the second case, the submitter claims that last year, in August, the Agency’s Director brought back to work four persons that had previously been suspended and that didn’t have security clearance due to a security risk determined by the Agency for National Security.
However, they were returned to work after they’d received an answer from a second-instance commission that accepted their appeals in part, according to the petition.
