PM Mickoski Comments on Multiple Topics

PM Mickoski has again said his government’s stand on red lines in the Bulgaria dispute is very clear.

“We’re ready to sit down and talk, but it’s not fair for someone to expect that this government, as long as I’m the PM, will say all of a sudden: ‘OK, what we’ve talked about so far no longer applies, while we will now sit down and make constitutional changes.’ Such treasons and surrenders will not happen as long as I’m the PM”, he noted.

Regarding the IPARD case, he refuted the opposition’s accusations that the scandal goes to the top of government. With regards to the judiciary, he is not giving up on the idea to recall Kocevski as Prosecutor General.

As far as the EC Report’s recommendations saying financial independence of judges and prosecutors is a problem are concerned, he doesn’t plan to implement them.

“The reforms are not for a better judiciary, but rather for higher pay of those that don’t have trust at all from citizens”, Mickoski emphasized.

When it comes to draft changes to the Criminal Code, Mickoski said they would have been filed to MPs by New Year’s. Asked about cabinet reshuffle talks, he didn’t reveal details, saying the names of those that would be part of the new composition would be known very soon.
